Hurricane Milton has curtailed our activities for this week. We will resume the schedule when the weather clears and we determine that our destinations are open and safe.
Mead Botanical Garden is a 48-acre urban oasis located in the heart of Orange County in beautiful Winter Park. Mead Garden is considered a migration trap, a place for migrating birds to stop for food and rest on their way north or south for the season. The variety of habitats, wetlands, open water, and an upland area with oaks and tall pines, appeals to a number of bird species. Picnic facilities are available, so pack a lunch and enjoy the park after birding. We will be walking at a leisurely pace between 2 and 3 miles. Wear comfortable shoes, pack sunscreen and bug spray.
We will meet at International Square for carpooling.
